Step by step

Open your theme code
From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store → Themes. Next to your current theme, click the ⋯ (three dots) button and choose Edit code.

Open theme.liquid
In the Layout folder on the left, click theme.liquid to open it.

Paste your snippet before </head>
Scroll to the closing </head> tag near the top, paste the snippet on the line just before it, and click Save.
✓ Check that it worked
Open your storefront in a new tab and look for the chat bubble in the bottom corner. If you use a password-protected store, disable the password temporarily to test.
The snippet loads inside your store's <head> on every page, so the assistant appears everywhere shoppers browse.
